All our data centers worked perfectly in December 2015.
On January 5th around 2% of our clients connecting to the west coast data center were impacted by an isolated routing issue. It took unfortunately 30 minutes to get resolved. We have altered our mix of upstream providers to avoid issues of this nature in the future.
West coast: perfect.
Europe: perfect.
New York:
On December 12th our NY data center experienced a brief outage. Recent upgrades showed pleasant results in that the overall impact was much reduced compared to the event in October.
All our systems were working perfectly in November.
As we are preparing for larger updates fewer upgrades than usually were making it to the surface of the application.
The European and West Coast data centers ran flawless in October.
On October 13th 2014 a hardware system triggered a fail over to our back up systems in the NY data center.
During October 14th some clients experienced increased page load times. It turned out that the backup
systems in their current configuration were not able to handle traffic of all recently added features.
On October 15th systems recovered to normal operation. We are reviewing and upgrading our back-up
and fall-back strategies to avoid future incidents of this nature. We promise 100% uptime. We think
that this also contains perfect response times. All clients that were impacted by this get credited
for the entire month of October.
All systems worked perfectly during September.
No outages. We performed seventy software updates in September. This month 50% of them were feature additions, 40% cosmetics and minor tweaks and 10% bug fixes. Over time we have seen the bug fix ratio go down steadily.
Which makes us, obviously, very happy.
On August 6th there was a brief connection interruption for some of our users of the NY data center. A route maintenance action had an unforeseen consequence. The problem has been fixed, and we have reviewed and updated our maintenance procedures to avoid events of this nature in the future.
Aside from this event everything worked perfect in August.
Throughout the month we continued to be impressed by the recently added connectivity upgrade. Both our constant tests as well as the network performance data of our clients show impressive improvements. Specially since we weren’t exactly slow before this makes us very happy. We will continue on the path to make sure that every client sees as much of their available bandwidth (no matter how high it is) to our data centers.
Things worked perfectly in July
Towards the end of the month we upgraded our bandwidth capacity in the www data center. Which brings utilisation back below 10%.
Aside from having awesome capacity for all sorts of crazy spikes we are especially excited about the quality of the new up stream providers and about the extended ability to route around all those glitches that make up the reality of the Internet in 2014.
In June there were no outages or problems across our data centers.
The overall connectivity landscape of the Internet keeps changing. We see expanding capacities across the board but also increasing implementations of rate limits. We are very happy how our infrastructure is able to service our clients in this changing environment. Past and current investments keep on paying significant dividends for us and our clients.
Everything worked during the month of May.
